Fairtrade is growing in the UK - but what does it mean ?
What products are certified or guaranteed as Fairtrade or fair trade and whats the difference?
The GIFTS story sack has a wealth of educational material and activites that encourages young people to find out the answer to these questions themselves.
All of the puppets and the story sack that support the Adventures of Fairis a Nepali Frog are certified by the
World Fair Trade Organisation and the producers and member of the Fair Trade Group Nepal (FTGN).
However it is also important to think about other ways we can be ethical shoppers and to question what a 'fair price' means.
By encouraging children to think about where the products they buy come from, who makes them, how much time does this take and what the different salaries are in different places we can all start to work towards a more fair and equal society.
Being a fair or ethical consumer can mean more than just buying products with labels on
- why not follow us on twitter, facebook and Instagram and join in the debate.
Fair Connections doesn't have all the answers - but it will ask the right questions and help people connect to each other to work towards a better world for all!
Fair Connections aims to deepen understanding of what it means to be fair in a globalised world.
Through stories and fairly produced educational material young people are provided with creative ways of thinking through complex issues.
We can help create new exciting connections between different schools working towards a more equitable and just society.
