Connecting NGOs

There are a number of Non Government Organisations (NGOs), both locally formed in Nepal and others based overseas, all working to improve education in Nepal. Their work ranges from building schools, sponsoring children to teacher training and working towards promoting not only access to education but access to high quality education in Nepal.

They are too many to mention so here are just a few which Fair Connections has seen in action. The ones below often work together with the spirit of cooperation and sharing - values which are at the heart of Fair Connections. The organisations all have differentt bases in the UK and run a wide range of activities to support their work. Fair Connections looks forward to working with them all in the future!

If you have connections to organisations working in Nepal to promote education then please tweet and use the #fairconnections and we can add links to them here. We look forward to hearing your stories and experiences. You may have been to Nepal and have come across a school whose story you would like to share - again use the #fairconnections or drop us an email and we can share stories with the Fair Connections network.

In December of 2015, Sara was in Nepal launching the 'The Adventures of Fairis a Nepali Frog' book and running workhsops on the importance of play in education and how to use puppets. Details will be posted and we hope to continue meeting as many teachers as we can to share the resources we are developing with children in Nepal.

Following the recent Earthquakes in Nepal the work of these, and other small NGOs are more important than ever. The Nepalese people are resilient, hard working and strong. The work being done by local people with the support of organisations is nothing more than astounding. The following organisations give you a small insight into the things that can be achieved when people unite to work together.

Fair Connections aims to deepen understanding of what it means to be fair in a globalised world.

Through stories and fairly produced educational material young people are provided with creative ways of thinking through complex issues.

We can help create new exciting connections between different schools working towards a more equitable and just society.
